Balance

You might have been asking yourself how we could be heading into a long holiday weekend without challenging our overhead stability shortly beforehand. Well, we can’t of course. The snatch balance will be building on the skills we worked on with our rack jerks last week. This time, however, we won’t be asking you to bring the bar back down to your shoulders. Once again, if we’re struggling to drop under this bar and this turns into a “push press to overhead squat”, it will be better to just work on your overhead squat  (with perhaps a super useful pause at the bottom). Have a great holiday, eat well and I’ll see you all soon!

STR:
Snatch Balance
Find a heavy single

WOD:
AMRAP 12
10 overhead squats
10 push ups

*Reminder: we are closed Thursday and Friday of this week. See you after the holiday!

Strength: three failed attempts at 95#, then one right AT parallel. A lot of room for improvement here, especially with not psyching myself out before each attempt! I don’t know why I find these so terrifying…

Wod: 6+16 @ 75#. Push ups were the limiting factor here. I’m sore from benching twice in the last week, so I was down to 3s and 2s after only one set… Oof.

    Snatch balance: 145# PR

    WOD: 7+10 @ 75# (1 less than Jesse :-/ )
I experimented with my grip width in each round, but I still haven’t found a sweet spot. My man boobs still haven’t recovered from Monday so those pushups were tough.

WOD: 9 rounds even at 95#

Snatch Balance: 55#, with better form and depth than I’d hoped for
WOD: 4+9 having moved to 35# and 24″… I could feel my shoulders not being able to brace, and it felt tenuous and, well, it seemed wimpy, but the right choice.

Happy Thanksgiving, Hannukah if you celebrate, and REST DAYS to all!

Snatch Balance: meh, awkward. I did however string ~5 DU’s together before class. Thats a first.

WOD: 8 rounds + 7 reps @ 55#. Started off with pushups until round 3 scaled to bench pushups.
