Pistol-Squat

The first Open workout for 2014 has been released: a repeat of 11.1.  AMRAP 10: 30 double unders and 15 power snatches (75/55).  Those of you registered for the open will be contacted by Brian by noon Friday for info on heats.  If you are on our team and aren’t going to do the WOD on Saturday or don’t receive an email,  please contact Brian at brian@crossfitsomerville.com. If you need a different time to do the WOD, please contact us ASAP!  Athletes should beat the gym by 11am.  Feel free to come early during the 10am invasion to warm up and get acclimated.  Spectators (everyone else! come cheer!!) should show up at 11.  We’ll see you all soon for some good times!

    interesting open wod that it’s an oldie.

    found this tidbit. not sure it’s recommended, but apparently clean and jerk is allowed if you’re too tired to do a snatch since it has the same standards for start and end of movement:

    Also, something I forgot to have Nick mention in this post: I got the CFSV Open team setup and I added everyone who registered under the CFSV affiliate to the team. We’re all set for the Open!!

    Should Open people be resting today? Would that mean I should NOT try the pistol amrap? It looks fun….

      Do what makes you feel good while being in line with your goals. If you think a ton of pistols are going to tire your legs out for the workout tomorrow, take the day off and do some mobility. If you don’t care about doing the workout tomorrow with tired legs, go for it! But you can always do the pistol AMRAP another day if it looks like something fun and you’d rather rest.
