Sustainable living
This weekend proved once again what an amazing community we have here at CrossFit Somerville. The Saturday morning crew killed it with a pure chipper version of this week’s open WOD followed immediately by three heats of CrossFit Somervillians getting after the 14 minute “AMRAP” (with one drop in who was more than pleased with the welcome he received from the group). After the workouts were done, a solid group stayed for the better part of the day (some had even started earlier) to help us finish off the vegetable beds and work on the chicken coop which included moving over 15 tons of gravel and soil. If that’s not putting your fitness to good use, I don’t know what is. Thanks again for all of you who participated. You once again made me so proud to be a part of such an amazing group of people!
(Note from JT: If you’re interested in adapted versions of the Open WODs scaled for good training stimulus regardless of your current fitness level, Saturdays have been great opportunities for that! I hope you give it a shot next Saturday and then stick around to cheer people giving it their best shot at the “Rx” level as well. Meanwhile, we’ll do a more thorough recap of some of your Open achievements later this week.)
