Memorial Day weekend schedule reminders
Just a reminder – there will be no regular classes on Monday in observance of Memorial Day. We will be running the hero WOD Murph at 11am, open for all to attend. There is no fee and it does not count towards your weekly class total. If you are planning on attending send me an email at nick@crossfitsomerville.com to let me know. Be ready to warm yourself up and we’ll get started with the first wave at 11:15.
There will still be a 10am class on Saturday and open gym on Sunday from 10-1.
Memorial Day WOD:
Murph
For time:
1 mile Run
100 Pull-ups
200 Push-ups
300 Squats
1 mile Run
In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.
This workout was one of Mike’s favorites and he’d named it “Body Armor”. From here on it will be referred to as “Murph” in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.
Partition the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats as needed. Start and finish with a mile run. If you’ve got a twenty pound vest or body armor, wear it.

WIsh I could be there doing Murph with all of you!
I ended up doing a longer Wod on open Gym today to not feel so lame.
