It’s time, friends.  We’ve been running a bit since winter broke, but now we need to get serious about it.  We’ll start off today with some basic concepts and some light reading/self-learning for you over achievers.  It all begins with posture (as does so many things).  Our gymnastic positioning work will go hand in hand with building good running form as awareness and control of our midline is key to be efficient and injury free while running.  So get ready for some hollow and arch body work during warm up to prime the body and mind and for those of you who are into it, goodformrunning.com is a great resource to get you deeper into what we’ll be working on (even the info-graphic on the homepage, which will take 60 seconds to go over is incredibly informative).

STR:

Back squat
3-3-3-3-3

WOD:

400m run
30 wall balls
20 burpee box jumps
30 wall balls
400m run

Hey CFSV Urban Aggies! Here’s another opportunity for you to get involved in local urban agriculture projects. Higher Ground Farm is a 55,000 square foot farm located on the roof of One Design Center in South Boston. On Saturday, June 14th, starting at 9am, they need a crew of 10 people to haul a couple of hundred milkcrates filled with soil from the first floor to the 11th floor roof. For those who want to work harder, you can climb the whole way, for everyone else, the freight elevator is an option for at least 8 of those floors. For more information and/or to sign up, people can contact Joanna Vanden at joannavanden@gmail.com.

BS: 165, definitely not my max set of 3, these felt really good I just ran out of time (technically a PR of +20lbs though)

WOD: 12:22, well this pushed my asthma to the max of allowing me any oxygen flow at all. Fun times.
