Drop fast and hang on
Today’s challenges are fairly straightforward. In the snatch balance, as usual the focus will be dropping fast into a stable overhead squat position. The WOD challenges us to not let go of a heavy kettlebell (i.e. these swings should be unbroken) and to push through a high rep load of a metabolically and mentally taxing movement, the burpee. Happy summer everyone. Let’s get to work.
STR:
Snatch Balance
2-2-2-2-2
WOD:
25 KBS (2/1.5)
50 burpees
25 KBS

SB: 45# working on form
WOD: 10:18 with 1.25pd KB. I was tempted to skip today when I saw this WOD, but it wasn’t as bad as it sounded. Still Tough, but a chipper of the good sort.
I did this WOD last week.
5:16 RX
The 1st set of KBS were UB. I managed 25 “real” burpees before I degraded to step ups. The 2nd set of KBS were broken into 19/6…I should’ve held on for those last 6 reps. It’s definitely more mental than physical at that point.
SB: Got an awesome sesh with JT on this move. Got up to 60# with a double looking good. I actually may work on these again really soon so I don’t forget all the cues. This “bottom of an OHS” position is beginning to make sense to my body.
WOD: 7:41 RX but those swings were not unbroken. Tired mess, poor lockout, 1.25 would have been a better scale.
I loved this one. 4:47 Rx
