The things that really matter
This blog is generally focused on training – how we can move ourselves or objects as well as possible, how we get maximize our time in the gym, what stimulus we’re looking for, etc. Crazy, right? Today I offer you something a little different, but no less (and probably more) important.
I’ll be leaving you all for a few days to attend my sister’s wedding. I realize, as I travel to be with my biological family, that I leave a whole other family behind. While I certainly had a set of reasons that I thought were important to me when deciding that I wanted to work at CrossFit Somerville, it has become quite clear to me that the human interactions I have on a daily basis here trump all of those reasons and are a huge part of why I feel like a healthy, happy person. So rather than talk about today’s workout I offer you this: we all came here for reasons and we don’t want to lose sight of what drives us. Today, I offer you the chance that you always have (and I see utilized constantly): come in, work hard, and get fit, but cherish the people around you most of all. They will play the biggest factor in your health by far.
