And the Rx for humans is…
CrossFit WODs are often programmed with separate Rx’s for men and women with the hope that this will help guide athletes to find a common intensity. The approach today is, instead, to base Rx on our bodyweight. This will be a fun way to test our strength-to-bodyweight ratio in a conditioning format. Also note hte box height Rx is 30″ for everyone, the idea being if it were an obstacle we were trying to get over, it would not ask nor care what our gender is.
The muscle clean is a lesser used variant of the clean. Click on the link below to see it and learn more about it, but in essence it’s a clean with zero drop back under the bar.

This Saturday,11/8, I’ll be holding another “Wigglin’ with Nick” session from 9-10am. This time through we’ll be spending a little more time on some myofascial release techniques (rolling, lax ball work, etc.), band work, partner stretches, and (of course) some movement exploration to help make the changes we make to ourselves last. It’s free for members and you don’t have to sign up – just show up! See y’all soon!
Our very own Babz Clough will be competing in the CrossFit Southie Showdown this weekend. She’s been training hard for this for months and I’m really excited to see how she performs this weekend. If you see her beforehand be sure to wish her luck and if you’d like to go cheer her on, details of the event can be found here.
