Kettlebells
Barbells have a lot of things going for them. They were build for convenience, allowing the user to put more load through their body than they would be able to with almost any other implement. Because of this convenience, however, they can “miss” some aspects of object manipulation that are important for more real world objects that are less convenient to move. Enter the kettlebell.
Today, we’ll be performing one armed clean and jerks as well as overhead squats with a kettlebell. While the load will be lighter than we would use if they were to be done with a barbell, the additional stability and control needed to accomplish these tasks with one arm will be invaluable to our training, especially when we think of the applicability to the real world.
