When we train our olympic lifts, we like to think of it as skill work more than strength work.  It’s not that we’re not building strength in the process, but it’s important to keep the quality of the movement as the primary focus.  This will certainly mean that we’ll be increasing the weight we move when appropriate – it’s an integral part of building this skill – but we don’t want the load on the bar to take precedence over how we’re moving that load.  Take a close look at the structure of today’s skill work.  It is designed to help you keep exactly that focus.

STR:

Squat Snatch x1
12 Rounds @ :90
Warm up to start at ~50%
Increase weight as appropriate, attempt to max out.
Once you miss, drop down 10# and hold there for remainder of time.

WOD:

10 Rounds:
5 Power Snatches (95/65)
5 Burpees

I thought my previous Max was 85# but alas I was wrong- that’s my current power snatch max. I didn’t realize it was a PR until I got home. ☺️
