A New Move
It’s rare that we engage in a movement here that hasn’t been programmed at this gym before. The split snatch, while not something we’ve done specifically before, is built with concepts and patterns from other movements that we do plenty of, mainly the snatch and the split jerk. Note that a big part of what we’re looking to get out of this is the fact that it is new and we’re not going to be able to go on autopilot with this one. Use what your body knows from training the snatch and split jerk, but embrace your own beginner-ness toward this movement and how it calls you to be focused in a way you might not have needed to in a while.
