Keeping it Clean
Cleaning of any sort trains us to be dynamic and explosive through the hips. This is useful both in heavy, focused singular events (a heavy squat clean single, for instance) as well as for more sustained, repetitive hip use. Lighter cleans that are meant to be fast (like in a WOD) can easily get sloppy and become less useful training. Today will give us the opportunity to train touch and go cleans in the controlled environment of our strength work and then immediately apply it to a WOD. Hopefully, we’ll be able to keep our cleans just as clean when we’re moving fast!
