theory
Olympic lifting as a sport is really only concerned with how much weight you can throw over your head once. We use the movements with a broader range of intention, and sometimes that involves being explosive multiple times in a row. When we work on touch and go reps of a snatch, clean and/or jerk, we are training this as well as the habit to rep these movements out when they show up in a WOD. This is why you’ll see the snatch in both today’s (and many other days’) strength and WOD. While you’re working on this outside of the WOD, try to put yourself in the mindset you’ll be in when the clock starts while still maintaining the mental clarity and focus that comes with being only concerned with three reps at a time.
STR:
power snatch x3
touch and go
WOD:
AMRAP 9
3 Muscle up/ 9 Ring pull ups
9 Power snatch (95/65)

STR: 135# (had 145# for three, but the last one turned in to a squat snatch. Dangit!)
WOD: 3+9 @ 95#, ring pull ups
STR: 90#
WOD: 4+7 with 65# and ring pull-ups
STR: 95#
WOD: 7 rounds @65# w/ jumping ring muscleups
7 Rounds! Nice job 🙂
