C+J
The skills we hone in the middle part of most classes are generally directly applicable to movements we use in WODS. Back squats, for instance, help us train patterns that show up in wall balls, box jumps and countless other motions. When we clean and jerk for load, however, we’re generally looking to squat clean and split jerk. These two movements are great for heavy weights, but not that efficient for moving medium weight for reps.
Today we’ll train the clean and jerk for use in WODs. This will mean we’ll most likely be looking to power clean and push jerk, possibly connect reps with a “touch and go” mentality and maybe even train the catch position in the power clean to be secondarily used as the dip in the jerk. All of these are really useful techniques to get the most out of these movements in a WOD, so take the time today to hone them in.

5:23rx. Focused going unbroken on all sets of C&J. The set of 5 was not fun.
Nice work, 5:30am crew. It was good to see you all!
WOD: 7:30 Rx. Tried to follow Olivia’s lead with unbroken sets, but it was slower for me so I dropped.
I think it may have been slower for me too, but I’m forcing myself to TnG because I hate it so much. I’m glad you gave it a shot! Nice work today!
WOD: 6:48 @ 75# and rope climbs.
WOD: 9:50 – Did the first round at 135# and then realized that would take forever. Dropped to 95#

6:08 Rx, nice job Olivia!
