We often deadlift to induce high load to our whole system, inducing a potent response from our bodies.  Our use of the lift today will be to train control as we descend and maintaining connection to the load as we turn around at the ground.  This will be directly (and advisably) applicable in the AMRAP to follow, so don’t disregard the pattern tuning you work on as soon as the clock starts!

SKL:

Deadlift (top down) sets of 5
40X2 – Four count down no pause
explosive up

WOD:

AMRAP 10
5 Deadlifts (185/135)
10 Push ups
15 Double unders
