Integration Time
Today we’re working on improving our pullup technique, and then putting it to immediate use. We generally emphasize building your strict pulling strength and building your joint resiliency through shoulder drills because it’s a much better way to build sustainable pull-ups and avoid the classic CrossFit labral tear issues that are unfortunately prevalent in some facilities. That emphasis pays off for everyone – you don’t get injured, and we get to keep seeing you every day.
As we build that baseline, though, it’s good to start putting those skills together to take the next step. Kipping is a useful skill, and learning how to take those shoulder mechanics and combine them with your hard-earned pulling strength to start stringing together truly impressive (and metabolically challenging) amounts of pull-ups is really gratifying.
A lot of you are on the edge of taking that step, and today is a time to see if we can put it all together! This will be a fun day, and we’re totally looking forward to it.
Speaking of things we’re excited about: the winter survey is live now. Click this link to give us your anonymous feedback about the facility and coaching and all things CFSV-related! It should only take 10-15 minutes, and we’ll be glad to hear from you.
