Hey Friends, Mel here again. And Happy Monday!

The Opens are just about here! I posted a couple weeks ago 5 reasons to try the CrossFit Opens according to Christine! In case you missed it, it’s linked above! Although we are not a competitive gym, the Opens are the biggest event to happen in the CrossFit community and I am personally very excited for it. For those of you who are unsure about the Opens, or don’t want to officially sign up, we encourage you to participate anyway! For the $20 you would normally spend on registering for the Opens, you can donate it to Community Cooks instead, but this is optional.

We will be running the Open WODs from 10-11 the next 5 Saturdays. You can come to all of them, you can come to one, or you could just come to hang out and cheer on your friends. And as Christine said, “Although it’s not without its flaws, the Open is…about pushing limits and learning with friends in the warm-fuzziness that is the CFSV culture.” So let’s get after it friends!

Please email me if you are interested in the Saturday Open WODs. mel@firefitness.com

Scheduling Things

We have added lots to our schedule recently so I just wanted to update y’all officially!

We have added Yoga with Jenna to our schedule! It will run at 8:45 am on Saturdays. This class is included in your memberships and will not count as one of your classes for the week! It is free for you guys!

We have also added an olympic weightlifting class with Coach Eric to our schedule on Wednesdays at 7 pm, there limited spaces so don’t forget to sign up!

That’s all for now folks!

I 100% agree with Christine! I’ve done three Crossfit Opens now, and they were all great, and I learned amazing new things about myself and others each time. Even when those were things were that, in fact, I could get to the point where burpees were the “rest” /o\. The Open at CFSV is especially fun, and great for pushing yourself to new heights. I’ve seen first muscle ups, first toes-to-bar, first pull-ups, and I experienced my own first (only) double-unders at the Open. If you’re on the fence, take them up on showing up to a Saturday and giving a little money to people in need – you’ll have fun, cheer on your peeps, and maybe learn something about yourself!
