Hey Friends!  Wanted to give y’all the heads up that I’ll be running a gymnastic strength class Wednesdays at 7pm alongside Eric’s weightlifting class.  This class will focus on things from basic pushing and pulling strength (like dips, handstand push ups, pull ups, muscle ups, etc) to fundamental position work (hollow and arch body) and into more complex gymnastic strength and work (planches, handstands, headstands etc.).  We’ll also be incorporating some loaded mobility work to help all of these things (and everything we do at the gym) become more accessible.

Sign up for this class just like you would any other.  Hope to see you there!

URBAN AG SEASON!!!

CrossFit Somerville has a small flock of laying chickens, a hive of bees, and space to grow vegetables in the back yard and on the roof.

We rely on a group of gym members who volunteer their time to care for the chickens and gardens, and reap the benefits of fresh eggs and vegetables throughout the whole summer.

If you would like to volunteer to be a part of the Urban Agriculture Group for the 2016 growing season, email brian@crossfitsomerville.com or talk to one of your coaches.  All CrossFit Somerville members and friends and family are welcome to participate!!

    WOD: 32:26 @ 75#
    One I love to hate.

    Gymnastics on Wed–have been waiting a year for this. Everything’s coming up Adam!

    WOD: 34:51 @ 55# and jumping pull-ups. Finally found a good/hard jumping pull-up scale.

    Brutal but great.

    WOD: 36:42. 24 seconds slower than when I did it in October 2015.

    Clean Squats @ 65# (55# in Oct.)
    Kipping PullUps (blue+red bands in Oct.)

    Overall even though I was slower I’d call it progress.
