Field Trip!
It’s that time of year, when many of us (including your coaches!) go on vacation. Nick is on vacation again, which means you’ve got a heavy dose of Yours Truly for the next few weeks. Kirstie and Mel are going away at the start of September for a few weeks, and I’ll be heading out to Burning Man as usual in the end of August through Labor Day. (Baby’s First Burning Man!)
But in addition to that, there’s some other travel opportunities for all of us! The Battle for Bosteros is a first-of-its-kind CrossFit Mixer/Home-and-Away-Competition-Series/BBQ being organized by JP CrossFit, and it’s coming up in just about two weeks. Have you signed up yet? I’m thinking it’ll be a good time. Last weekend a big group from JPCF made the trip across the river to check out our box at CFSV and to donate support for Eric Ehmann’s cancer fundraiser. This weekend I’m organizing to head over to JP CrossFit for their Saturday workout in return. They run theirs at 9:30, and it takes about 30 minutes to get there, so I’ll be departing with a carpool at about 8:50am Saturday morning. If you’d like to meet some other CrossFitters and get a sneak preview of the Battle for Bosteros, come on out and join me! (Kirstie will still be running the Saturday 10am WOD at CFSV as usual, if you don’t want to make the trek.)
WHEW! That’s a lot of words, and I haven’t even talked about the WOD tomorrow or my feelings yet. Don’t worry, in addition to coaching every day for the next few weeks I’ll also be posting a lot of blogs, so you’ll get plenty of my thoughts on both of those things. 😀 All I’m going to say is that tomorrow’s WOD will be familiar if you were part of my Holiday Crew on July 4th, but I promise the new wrinkle will keep it spicy.
