Fast Under, Fast Out

I’ve been having a blast with the Olympic Weightlifting classes on Wednesday night. (Starting next week, we’ll be moving both the Gymnastics and Oly sessions to THURSDAY nights, so keep your eyes on the schedule.) One of the things we focused on last week was cleaning up the shrug and getting under the bar fast – in other words, the High Hang Clean – and saw some huge improvements in people’s numbers as a result. In today’s strength work you’ll get a chance to do the same. And if you want MORE time just digging in to your Olympic lifts and cleaning up your technique, come see me this Wednesday night (and next Thursday night) at 7pm for the Oly Weightlifting hour!

For the workout, we’re going for speed. The thrusters are light and should be unbroken, and the runs should be full tilt. If you’re a strong athlete I am fine with you scaling up the thrusters to 95/65, but keep them unbroken. This is a fast one, and no matter what scaling you choose you should be very fast out the door.

STRENGTH:
High Hang Clean x3

WOD:
6 Rounds for Time
10 Thrusters (75/55)
Run 200m
