What’s the best way to get better at something?  Do it more, of course.  It’s easy to sidestep the obvious sometimes and seek out a trick or shortcut, but in the end it’s mostly about how much time you spend trying a thing.

We have plenty of volume to support that today – especially with our pull ups.  It’ll be a great chance to buckle down, grit our teeth and go after a solidly challenging scale (knowing that there are 100 reps of each movement.)  But that’s ok – we’re counting on this one going long and leaving space for it.

WOD:

5 rounds

200m run

20 wall balls (20/14)

20 pull ups

20 KBS (1.5/1)

SCHEDULE UPDATE!

Open Gym is cancelled for the next two Sundays (7/9 and 7/16).  It will resume 7/23.

We changed Bosteros to a one day event!

“Summer’s busy and schedules are tight, so we’ve decided to collapse all of the awesomeness of the Battle for Bosteros into one day—Sunday, July 16th!

Here’s how the new and improved Battle for Bosteros will work. We’ll run three scheduled WODs at CrossFit Somerville on Sunday, July 16th with a BBQ after, just like before. The fourth WOD will now be a floater, which can be completed at any time on Sunday, OR on Saturday afternoon at JP CrossFit. On the Thursday before the event, we’ll introduce you to your teammate via email—you can decide if you’d like to meet at JPCF on Saturday to register and do the floater, or if you’d rather wait until Sunday to meet your partner.”

WOD: 4 rounds Rx (hit the 30 min time cap but thanks Mel / Kirstie for pushing me to treat this as an AMRAP)

    Woof it was tough.
Went in the am not knowing what the workout was gonna be.
Big surprise! Didn’t know if I would be able to finish, but I pushed through luckily.
