Race

JM_CrossFit_20130710_7840You hear it all the time, so much so that it’s almost cliche – “Make sure you’re moving more than you’re standing around/staring at the bar/staring at the ground.”  That’s all well and good, but we put ourselves in plenty of situation here where that’s not entirely possible.  And that’s fine from time to time.  Maybe it’s our first time doing double unders in a WOD and we have to take a moment to settle our head here and there to make sure the movement is crisp.   Or maybe the loading is heavy on some movement and you need a little extra time to make sure you make the next lift.  This can all be useful for us, especially if it allows us to achieve the intent of the workout.

That being said, the intent of today’s workout is to not stop moving.  Race (shoot, sprint) the entire way through.  What does that take?  Well, wise scaling to start.  There are 60 reps of each movement and for 99% of us the only thing that should need scaling are the toes to bar.  So scale them to race and then be ready to turn it on right from the onset.  We’re going to be on you today if we see you standing around.  Honestly, you can always do one more burpee…
