The new you

We love setting goals here.  Goals are great motivators of change. If you are here to bring about any sort of change in yourself, today’s blog is for you.

We just wrapped up (naturally) our 2013 goals.  Now is the time to start thinking about where we want to be this time next year.  Start jotting down some ideas with the S.M.A.R.T. theme in mind (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Timely).  Think both about your year end goals as well as what we’ll call 1st quarter goals.  If chosen wisely, short term goals should build towards long term goals.  For instance, if a muscle up is something you’d like to be able to do but you can’t yet do chest to bar pullups, you have a fairly natural shout-to-long term goal progression right in front of you.

Give yourself some time to think through this.  What you base your focus on over the next year is not something to choose quickly.  As usual, talk to your coaches if you find yourself stuck in any way (or just want some good advice on the matter).  Changing yourself starts with the decision to make change and is followed very closely by vision of what change looks like.   Put some thought into it, be honest with yourself and write them down so you are held accountable.  It’s time to be the change you want to see.
