Turkish Get-ups are nef my favorite movements.  They force us to engage so many aspects of quality movement all at once.  Today we will be using them as our strength/skill portion of our workout.  We will be treating this AMRAP as we typically do for this portion of class: not for rounds or speed but trying to stay engaged in quality movement for as much of the 12 minutes as possible.  We’ll want to use a weight that we can control but that also challenges our ability to maintain good position.  To be clear, we should be moving slow and methodically, pausing in each position on the way up to assert our control over the weight.

Oh, and here’s something some of you might find amusing…

STR:

AMRAP 12
TGU (lunge version)

Athletes should choose a weight they can move well and move consistently across these 12 minutes. Emphasis on continual engagement. Do not count rounds.

WOD: (from 1/9/14)

3 rounds

AMRAP 3
5 pull-ups
10 wallballs
