ready for the open...

ready for the open…

The CrossFit Open starts this week! If you haven’t registered already, do so here.  The first workout will be announced Thursday night.  If there is interest, we’ll host a viewing party at the box to watch the announcement as a group (so post here if you’re interested!)

Once we know what the workout is, we’ll post more details on how things will go down on Saturday.  The plan as it stands is to run the workout right after the 10am class (so, at 11 AM-ish).  If you’ve participated in the open before, there’s a good chance we’ll be calling on you to help judge the workout.  There will be several heats set up, so you’ll have plenty of time to get yourself ready for your own workout as well.  And even if you are not participating, we invite you to come, hang out, and cheer on your fellow CrossFitters!

STR:

High Bar Back Squat
5-5-5-5-5

WOD:

Open WOD 11.6/12.5

AMRAP 7

3 thrusters (100/65)
3 chest to bar pullups

6,6,9,9 etc…

Yay, the Open! While I might be up for other Thursday viewing parties, I can’t make it this week. But I’ll be there on Saturday with all the other contenders and cool kids :D.

There were some issues with getting the team registered. JT and Nick are working on it and it will be resolved before the first workout. We will let all those registered know when the team is set up to join.

Woof – 100# thrusters? Glad this isnt one of the workouts for the open this year 🙂 Actually looking forward to this workout tonight!

    I’m game for viewing parties!

    HBBS: 165# PR

    WOD: 12 + 24 (ring rows)

20# PR on second attempt. Realizing I need longer breaks (3-4 mins) once I match/go beyond my PRs. Shoulders was fatigued this morn, so S2H on thrusters were tough.

    Nice rise and grind 630.

  5. Ben PC says:

    HBBS: 195# PR
WOD: 12+22 (65#, two red bands)

  6. Niki Brown says:

HBBS: 155#. Wasnt feeling this. Decided to take it easy.

WOD: 12+4 @ 75# Thrusters felt misleadingly easy at first…

  7. Renee says:

HBBS 150# matching my 5rm from last year – felt like I may have had a bit more in me

    WOD 12 even Rx

  8. Christine says:

Done on 2/26/13 after being out sick for 2 days due to food poisoning.
