Working our legs
Monday’s workout (Diane for those of you who missed it – deadlifts and handstand pushups) was a great example of complementary movements that don’t interfere too much with our ability to complete the other. Sometimes, however, it can be useful to pair movements that make each other more challenging. Like in today’s WOD!
This is our variation of an old mainsite workout. Even if you love running, it’s going to feel… different after 10 semi-heavy squats. The challenge today will be pushing the pace of the runs while also reminding your legs how to run in the first place and then getting back underneath the bar as soon as you return.
STR:
push press
5-5-5-5-5
WOD: (from 11/26/13)
4 rounds
10 back squats (bodyweight)
400m run

Couldn’t have programmed a more nay-like WOD on my bday-
PP 95#
WOD 11:54 Rx
Here’s to crossfit helping us all just get more bad ass with age 😉
Ps- 115# and what date did we do this before? I loved it so much I actually remember that we did it before.

And your comment on that workout is awesome: “Bodyweight back squats and running? Is it my birthday?”
AHHHHHHH no effing way
And look at that – a 40 second PR 🙂

Happy Birthday Renee!
PP: 45, 75, 95, 115, 135, 155, 175, 200x 4 (f)
A 25# jump wasn’t that smart.
WOD:
11/26/13- 12:27 RX @ 200# (rowing)
Today- 15:50 RX @ 205# (running)
PP: 80# – it was a pleasure lifting with Sarah, and not just because she can do the barbell math well.
WOD: 13:50? with 75# backsquats – this was tougher than I expected.
Awesome push from the 7:30 crew! Some awesome Rxing and some great scaling!
