Time Priority

Most of our WODs fall into one of two categories: task priority and time priority.  Task priority are the workouts that are “rounds for time” or just a straight chipper of work to complete.  Time priority workouts are the AMRAPs.  While we can achieve very similar results with both, their differences allow us to have a different approach.

Today’s WOD is time priority.  One way or the other, it will end after 15 minutes.  Knowing this, we can go into it challenging ourselves a bit more with both our double unders and weight on the sandbags.  Not that consistent with your double unders, but you can get 3-5 at a time sometimes?  Great, go for them.  You’ll still be working hard the whole time, you just might not get through as many reps as you would otherwise.  Not only are you still getting a great metabolic stimulus, you’re building skill at the same time.  And then there are the sandbags… For some reason, people seem to approach these timidly when choosing how much weight to load up.  Today is the day to push the weight.  Besides, they’re much easier to handle when they’re more full.

STR:

Hang squat cleans
Heavy single

WOD:

AMRAP 15
10 sandbag cleans (over shoulder)
25′ reverse sandbag drag
20 double unders
25′ sandbag drag (forward)
