Gymnastic rings can make even the simplest upper body gymnastic movement a whole new game.  We’ll use them today to add challenge to the pushup, a movement that can be very forgiving to “sloppy” form.  The rings will take this forgiveness away, asking us to stabilize our shoulders ourselves through external rotation (the whole “push your thumbs out” at the top thing). They’re worth giving a shot, even if you have to raise the rings up a bit higher than you’d normally do push ups.  Your shoulders will thank you with added stability tomorrow.
