New Cycle
We’re starting a new 6-week programming cycle today. As we’ve done in the past, we’ll start and end the cycle testing the same thing(s) to see if we made progress in these realms across the 6 weeks. Our test/retest will be a 1rm power clean and a 2k row.
While the power clean is a complex movement when we break it down, so much of it comes down to the function of our hips and their ability to create power and our body’s ability to send it different places (in the case, a barbell). We’ll be working the technique, for sure, but we’ll also be looking as this fundamental idea of hip explosiveness throughout.
Likewise, rowing can be refined indefinitely. While we’ll be working these details this cycle, from a bigger picture perspective we’re looking to retune our engine and prep it for the warmer months. Improve your rowing, for sure, but let’s wake up our ability to find that burn…
