Toes to bar is one of those things than can be a struggle to get a feel for.  It takes a strong core and functional shoulders to be able to crank them out.  Once we get there, where do we go to advance?  Well, we generally focus on kipping them, so if we take the kip out we can switch the focus from a dynamic, shoulder driven movement to a more controlled core heavy challenge.  And that’s what we’re after today – strict toes to bar  (or knee tucks, or L-pulls) to work the core and hip action on this pattern.
