Cleaning Up
On Sunday, I was (shockingly) awake and at the gym with Mel cleaning up after the party. You may have noticed how sharp the place looked today – we also had some help come in to give the place a deep scrub and reset after some of the winter weather that got tracked in over the last month.
Today we’re cleaning up our movement – particularly the middle of our Olympic Clean! The Hang Clean Pull (below knee) is a segment of the Clean which we’ll be using to make sure that we’re properly loaded in the posterior chain, keeping our knees back, retaining a flat back and active shoulder, and finding good full extension at the top. Don’t worry, your coaches will talk you through what all that means – or just move you around until you’re doing it right. This isn’t about maximal load, but about “greasing the groove” and making sure you’ve got a clean… pull… in your clean pull.
I also want to say THANK YOU once again to everyone who came to the party on Saturday night. That was an absolute blast! I’m glad y’all had a good time and that we all made it home safely. 🙂 Paige Lucas has just started her own photography page and brought her camera to the party; thanks for the shots, including these here!
