Look Familiar?
The workout for today was written last Thursday afternoon. Thursday evening, 17.1 was released. Look familiar?
While it should look similar to 17.1 (not on purpose!!!), our focus will be a little different and it should have quite a different feel despite the similar movements. The burpee box jumps are purposely low to allow us to focus on the explosive, athletic nature of the movement rather than the grindy feeling that most of us found last Friday or Saturday. And the snatches should be light enough that we don’t have to stop and stare at the weight.

This was awesome. I said after 17.1 that I wanted to try again with more explosive box jumps, and here’s the opportunity. Turns out it went a LOT better for me when I just went for it instead of trying to “budget.” It was cool to do a thing, puzzle it over, then have a really quick opportunity to see what I learned.
