Springing into Urban Ag

Spring is (somewhat) here, and it’s almost time to get our Urban Ag project back in swing!

For the past few years we’ve run the chickens and gardens in a co-op model, where the team split up the jobs and split up the eggs and veggies as well. This year we’re thinking about trying something different with the garden: a community garden model.

The general idea would be to split up our available gardening plots – on the roof and in the back of the building – to people who want a place to try to grow their own! You can plant whatever you like, and we’ll keep gardening tools and supplies out in our ag shed for you to use. Likewise, you’d have access to our water and anything else you need. The space will be yours to grow whatever you like – and you can team up with friends to help take care of the plots, too.

Our chickens will be returning soon as well – and we’re putting together a rotation of people who are interested in helping out with chicken care and getting fresh eggs!

If you’re interested in a community garden plot, or in learning more about the return of the chickens, please get in touch with Brian! We’ll get this spring springing in no time.
