You’ll Feel It

It’s easy to “feel it” when there’s a long WOD like Murph – we are faced with a wall of work and have to plow through it. But when the work is shorter or even interval based, sometimes we can game ourselves out of a good workout by not going as hard or as fast as possible. Sometimes it’s a bit technical and we can overthink it. Either way, we’re not getting the most out of it.

Today’s WOD is definitely one where you’ll get the most out of it by pushing the run as hard as you can and then trying your best to load that bar all the way up and go unbroken. There’s nothing fancy about this, nothing sneaky or secret – just hauling ass and shoving a large load a long distance really fast, a whole bunch of times. So aim high and give it your best shot – I promise you’ll feel it.

Speaking of feeling it: today’s squat complex is a thing of beauty. The goal is to aim for your heavy front squat triple number from just a week or so ago, and then immediately after placing it in the rack to step it back out and do 6 reps of the same weight as back squats. After a few sets of this, you’ll be ready to shatter concrete with your thighs.

STRENGTH:
Squat Complex: Front Squat x3, Back Squat x6
Do it 4 times for load.

WOD:
4 Rounds
400m Run
21-18-15-12 Shoulder-to-Overhead (95/65)

Schedule notice: JT will be away on vacation from Wednesday 7/5 to Wednesday 7/12. Oly lifting instruction will be cancelled both days, although O-lifters are welcome to lift then during open gym time. Magic Time will resume after 7/13.
