Time to Party!

Brian Hack | 01/18/2012 | 15

Hey guys, I would like to extend this invitation to you all. Our friends over at CrossFit Fenway will be hosting a party from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM this Saturday, January 21st at Sweet Caroline’s (1260 Boylston Street) to celebrate 2+ years and counting of all kinds of awesomeness. I encourage you all to come and celebrate with us! CrossFit Fenway holds a very special place in my heart; I began my training there followed by an internship that led me to where I am each and every day. I hope you all can come!

Can we get some XFit Somerville shirts please?

    • JT says:

YOU BET! I’m very glad to get you hooked up with some shirts. Yosh already has one – ask him to see it and maybe we’ll go with that design!

Hopefully in time for the Newfitter Throwdown on Feb 11? Speaking of which, who else out there in the CFSV blogosphere is competing at the Throwdown? Would be nice to see a good contingent sporting brand new duds.

There is a great place I am in touch with about TShirts in Somerville. I have ordered from them in bulk for the football team and for MIT. Its QRSTs, Peter is the man.

I’ve been thinking about it….but haven’t spoken up yet. I’ve come a very very long way in 2 months time (and of that I am proud!)…but I’m not sure if I’m ready to put myself out there where I am now (might prefer to wait until I feel like I at least understand what good form is like on more of the basic lifts).
That aside, I do think it would be a good team-building-time! And I’m always up for team-time! I should look at the deadline to register…

Hi Lynn…I would offer that if you’re comfortable enough even to be considering it then go for it. I participated in a competition for the first time this past fall (the garage games) and it was a blast. I was definitely a little nervous going into it, but was really glad I did in the end. They’re really not all that different from the WODs we do each day, just with the energy and excitement turned up to 11!

Newfitter Throwdown?!? What’s all this then?

I’m down. Lynn, you should totally do it. Are you in Brian?

        • Brian says:

I’m absolutely in, and already registered. Those interested can find the registration page here: https://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/eventReg?oeidk=a07e5hfi1x39bbe34bc&oseq=

You don’t have to pay anything online, just register to reserve yourself a spot and you pay your $20 at the door.

If anyone is interested I would be more than happy to talk with you about preparation/game day stuff. You still have about a month to get ready which is plenty of time. I have spoken with the coordinator of this event and from what I heard, this is a very straightforward day with 3 events and pretty standard movements. I unfortunately will be away that weekend at an event but please don’t hesitate to come to me with any questions!

those delicious cupcakes were made by fenway’s own adie sprague, who works for treat cupcake bar in needham. she put together this awesome video about staying fit and working in a cupcake store. lots of love for fenway! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OD_wsdMNjd0

i did some power clean work at 75# and tried working out a few form kinks.

wod: 4:41 rx!!!!! this is the first time i’ve ever done Rx dips. i had been volume training for a few months and started putting more work into over the last few weeks, too. glad to see it’s paying off!
