WEIGHTED PULL-UPS?!? That’s like the opposite of how I do pull-ups, which is with lots of bands to make them easier. Curious to see how this goes.

  2. will says:

do we even have a 2 pd kettlebell?? i won’t be needing one, just curious! this looks like a fun workout 🙂

    • Nick says:

      we do… woohoo….

I’m going to try to graduate to “not the smallest” kettlebell tomorrow (without flipping myself over backwards). I think that would be a swell victory to start the week off with!

  3. Ben S says:

depending on HOW I added the weight, I got a 20, 26 or 40 lb weighted pullup. 20# with the vest, 40# dumbell or 26# kettlebell with the belt. using the belt was much harder then the dumbell, probably because of the couple inch “head start” you get with the dumbell off the floor, but it also felt MUCH heavier then the 20 lb vest…maybe because the center of gravity is lower?

    WOD: 7:30 rx

  4. Jen G. says:

Worked on dead hangs. Apparently my form was not as good as I thought…
    WOD: 13:29 Rx
Got off the rower and had NOTHING in my legs. Awfulness.

    • JT says:

      Don’t be hard on yourself. I nitpick everyone’s form…

Great work by you and all the morning folk!

This WOD is sneaky-mean, especially on the legs (and the back, if you’re not carefully attentive to rower and KB form).

  5. amos says:

10# with a dumbbell. Almost got 15, but I think my arms were starting to go at that point. 7:29 for the WOD, with a 1.5 pood KB. I think I made up time with rowing that I lost on the KB and burpees.

  6. lynn says:

I did graduate to the 1-pood KB today! I tried to use the bigger-than-that-one, but it wasn’t my time yet.

BUT! I *might* have done my first dead-hang-pullup! I didn’t think I was quite there (maybe I swung too much or jumped? I wasn’t really paying attention, I just grabbed the bar and then I was up in the air…), but witnesses say my chin was above the bar! I could not do it a second time to confirm this occurrence. But – I will be able to do 1 “with integrity” VERY soon! Yeah!

    • Kate says:

Nice job Lynn, you are a bodyweight prodigy!

Worked on dead hang pullups w/red band.

WOD: 9:59 rx – was time for me to graduate to the “big girl” kettlebell!

      • lynn says:

congrats on the big-girl-bell!!!!! I picked it up and tried to give it a good swing — but it just wasn’t going to end well, haha. Graduating is fun! 🙂

  7. Brian says:

    50 lb weighted pullups
    WOD: 7:11 Rx

And great break tonight at the 6pm class.

    Giants on 3…1, 2, 3 GIANTS!!!
