It’s Open Season

Registration for the 2013 CrossFit Open begins January 30th! In just a few short weeks it’ll be that time of year again, where everyone waits up anxiously on Tuesday evenings to see what the new WOD for the week will be. The Open will be another 5 week season testing the best athletes to see if they have what it takes to qualify into the CrossFit Games.

Competing is fun, and it’s cool to see where you stack up in the rest of the region. If you have any interest in competing please talk to any one of your coaches about appropriate steps you can make to help further your training.

    WOD: 14:13 Rx

    This one involved two movements that I don’t like very much, and one that always sucks. I was riding the struggle bus a bit this morning after a few days off, but the 5:30am fought through it. Nice work! Happy New Year!

    wod: 14:45 Rx. holy suck fest. the only thing that would’ve made this worse is if there was rowing included.

    Sumo Deadlift: 365# (which is my normal deadlift 1-rep PR). First time doing these and they were awkward. I find that this wide stance variation is easier on the lower back because of the shorter distance one has to deadlift. Some advice, wear something that covers your shins…OUCH!

    WOD: 11:17 Rx. I don’t typically mind thrusters, but they felt like death today for some reason.

    So many Thrusters lately. I’m gonna miss you guys for 9 days while I’m away getting half assed road WODs in. NOBODY WINS A ROAD WOD!! (right, Ben? 😉
